Programs

The Mountain Institute JTED offers a variety of Career and Technical Education programs to students who are seeking to develop specific skills towards their future Career!

Program options are available in 13 Career areas which include; Agriculture, Audio Visual Production, Automotive, Biotechnology, Business Management and Administrative Services, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Drafting and Design, Education Professions, Information Technology (Computer Networking & Web Design), Nursing Services, and Welding!

Career and Technical Education programs have been selected and approved by the Mountain Institute Governing Board.  Initial program interest is generated from the member school districts, and may utilize both existing programs and new programs which meet the needs of their communities.  Each program is selected through the use of state labor market data to be high skill; high wage and/or high demand career opportunities for students are part of a CTE program!  All CTE program standards and curriculum are industry driven and span into postsecondary education opportunities.

Programs are offered at each of the Satellite School locations (Ash Fork, Bagdad, Bradshaw Mountain, Chino Valley, Mayer, Prescott, and Seligman), as well as Centralized locations around Western Yavapai County.

Students may enroll in the CTE program that matches their career goals leading to an industry validated certification.   Each program requires students to complete a “Coherent Sequence” of courses that range from 2 to four years in length depending on the program.  Students who are enrolled in MI Programs may earn credits which can be applied to Graduation at their Home High School, and may also earn additional credits at Yavapai Community College if they pass the Compass Reading Test.  Additional opportunities are available for TECH PREP articulated credits upon graduation from High School which can be utilized to earn College credits at the Community College level.
